Undefeated Be The One setting the fastest qualifying time for the $70,470 Beehive Futurity in Saturday's trials at Laure Brown Racetrack.

SOUTH JORDAN, UT—MAY 15, 2021—In the last of five trials and last race of the day at Laurel Brown Racetrack, B the One came home in a blistering 16.524 to set the fastest qualifying time for the $70,470 Beehive Futurity.

The final will be held on May 29 and will feature a rematch of the top two finishers of the Hadley/Giles Futurity earlier this month.

B the One and jockey Cesar Moreno broke on top and continued to draw away from the field as they won by a length and a half in the 330-yard trial. B the One earned a 111 speed index.

Luis Gonzalez trains the 2-year-old colt for owner CB Stables. He was bred in Oklahoma by Randy and Stacy Hill, by Five Bar Cartel and out of KT Perry, by Mr Jess Perry.

B the One is undefeated in three career starts. He won his trial for the Hadley/Giles futurity and returned to win the final on May 1 at Weber.

Second fastest qualifier Mound Valley Eagle posted a time of 16.711 as the winner of the second trial and earned a 105 speed index in the gate to wire victory.

Jesus Valenzuela rode Mound Valley Eagle for trainer Riley Moosman and owners Andrea and Eddie Jensen. The One Fabulous Eagle gelding was bred in Idaho by Abigail Kawananakoa, out of Royalfooseperrypie, by Foose.

Mound Valley Eagle was the fastest qualifier to the Hadley/Giles Futurity and finished second in the final.

B the One’s stablemate Runaway Witch won the fourth trial and posted the third fastest time of the day: 16.773. Cesar Moreno also rode Runaway Witch and guided the Sir Runaway Dash filly to a nose victory, earning a 103 speed index in the win.

Runaway Witch is owned by CB Racing Stable, LLC. She was bred in Louisiana, by Tyler Graham and Robert Touchet, out of the Game Patriot mare Im a Lil Witch. Saturday’s trial was her career debut.
