Chrissy Ledoux Wins Third Straight, Sets Fastest Time For AQRA-Turf Paradise Open QH Futurity

PHOENIX, AZ—NOVEMBER 18, 2021—Racing to her third consecutive win, Chrissy Ledoux posted the fastest qualifying time, from four two-year-old trials contested Thursday, for the AQRA-Turf Paradise Open Quarter Horse Futurity.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will return to Turf Paradise Racecourse on Thursday, December 9th to vie for the winner's share of the $80,000-est. purse going 350 yards.

Under jockey Luis Valenzuela, Chrissy Ledoux was a wire-to-wire 1-1/4 length winner in :17.502 seconds, equaling a 105 speed index with an 8 mph tailwind, to establish to top qualifying mark.

The Arizona homebred daughter of world champion sire FDD Dynasty broke her maiden at Los Alamitos Race Course on September 9th, then returned a month later to win an Allowance at the Orange County racecourse.

Ralph Fales trains the filly out of Jess One Look by Jesse James Jr. for himself and co-owner Carolyn Fales. Chrissy Ledoux has banked $18,815 in four starts this season.

Thrill My Socks Off, a son of a leading third-crop sire Kiss My Hocks, broke his maiden in the opening trial under jockey Emilio Tapia to set the second fastest time of :17.608 seconds, a 102 speed index with no wind.

Trainer Jesus Olivas-Valenzuela saddled the Texas-bred gelding to a 1-1/2 length win for owner Jose Antonio De Santiago. After two off-the-board performance in trials at Ruidoso last summer, Thrill My Socks Off was fourth in a Maiden race at Arizona Downs in his last start, September 14th.

Fulton Quien Sabe Ranches, LP bred the $45,000 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale graduate from the Mr Jess Perry mare License To Thrill. Thrill My Socks Off has banked $6,250 in four starts.

Trainer Antoni Soto saddled three finalists including the third-fastest qualifier Send Me A Reason V who finished second to fastest qualifier Chrissy Ledoux in the third trial while clocking :17.662 seconds, a 99 speed index for the 350 yards.

It was the second win in five starts for the Oklahoma-bred racing for owner Ricardo Ramirez. Michael Pohl bred the colt by champion sire Good Reason SA from the Pyc Paint Your Wagon mare Send Me This Wagon. Joseph Belloc, Jr. had the riding call aboard the $12,565 earner.

Soto's other qualifiers were fastest Good Reason To Run and 10th fastest Sb Timetoshine. The only other trainer with multiple qualifiers was Eloy Navarro with 6th-fastest Bh Free Drop Billy and 7th-fastest Tresponte.
