Jr Dash Of Coronado Gets 4th Consecutive Win In Wyoming Downs Futurity

EVANSTON, WY–AUGUST 7, 2022–The $101,750 Wyoming Downs Futurity early Sunday evening marks the fourth consecutive victory Jr Dash Of Coronado.

After posting the fastest time to the trials, jockey Jesus Valenzuela and Jr Dash Of Coronado paired up again for the finals and drew the one hole as post-time favorites for the 350-yard stakes race. 

Breaking out of the gates in first place, Jr Dash Of Coronado did just as her jockey commanded and kept a good lead to the wire. With an 8 mph tailwind on a heavy track the duo won by a length pulling in $46,805 of the winner's share and clocked an 85 speed index in :17.887 seconds. 

The Wyoming Downs Futurity is the first stakes win for Jr Dash Of Coronado and her owner/breeder J R Stables. Trained by Riley Moosman, the daughter of Coronado Cartel has won every career start and earned $55,985 in lifetime earnings. She is out of Jr Dash Of Shania by Foose.

Coming in second was One Sweet Duck with Armando Viramontes in the irons. The duo crossed the wire a length behind Jr Dash Of Coronado and a 1/2-length ahead of Miss Kool Menace, clocking an 81 speed index in :18.032 seconds.

Also trained by Riley Moosman, One sweet Duck has placed first or second in four of six starts with $40,520 in earnings. 

The daughter of One Sweet Jess is owned/bred by Lex Fabrizio and out of Duck Dash N Go by Coronas Fast Dash. 

Miss Kool Menace, ridden by Oscar Cervantes, had a late surge at the final stretch and grabbed a third place finish. The daughter of Lil Kool Wagon is trained by Alvaro Torres. She has lit the board in every out with $17,252 in earnings.

Bred by Scarlett Hill Farm, Inc., Miss Kool Menace sold to her owner Jon Blonquist for $9,500 in the 2021 Heritage Place Yearling Sale. She is out of Menacing Cartel by Krash Cartel.

The remaining order of finish for the field of nine fillies and one gelding is Jessica Cruz, Flightofthephoenix, Political Hottie, Moments, Trickys, Ddcanfly and Kcross Cuatro.
