Dos Mia Chicks Captures First Stakes Win In Seasonal Debut at SunRay Park Friday

FARMINGTON, NM–APRIL 12, 2024–Dos Mia Chicks, a lightly raced daughter of multiple stakes sire Jess A Chicks, closed well to garner her first career stakes win today in a neck victory over Jm Johnny B Good in the $70,000 New Mexico Breeders Stakes(RG3) at SunRay Park.  

Post-time favorite Miss Baby Cartel was another neck back in a blanket finish to take third place.

Ridden by jockey Christian Cardenas, Dos Mia Chicks completed the 400 yards in :19.700 seconds, equaling a 91-speed index into a 12 mph crosswind, to get post his second win in five career starts. His last start was a fourth-place effort in an Allowance at Zia Park last December.

Fernando Rascon trains the 3-year-old filly for owner-breeder Rosa Oros. Dos Mia Chicks, from the Woodbridge mare Forty One Special picked up $42,000 for the victory to boost her bankroll total to $61,125.

Ventura M Ranch, LLC's Jm Johnny B Good earned $14,000 for second. Alfredo Sigala had the riding call aboard the son of Jm Specialwynn for trainer Jorge Sanchez, Jr. J & M Racing, LLC bred the $42,521 earner from the Pyc Paint Your Wagon mare POyc Ferrari Prize.

Third-place finisher Miss Baby Cartel, under jockey Jose Enriquez, earned $7,000 for owners Felix Rodriguez and Sergio Holguin. Elsa Soteo bred the multiple graded-placed daughter of leading New Mexico sire Big Daddy Cartel from the First Moonflash mare Double Moon Baby. She has banked $81,595 in nine career starts.

Young Emperor, Who U Daddy, Grafity, Jess Paid, Bigg Shades Of Gray, and Lp King (lost rider) completed the field.
