Kue Tiz Due (#6) holds off Jg Special Dynasty (#6) to win the $82,446 Beehive Futurity at Weber Downs on Sunday afternoon.

OGDEN, UT–APRIL 21, 2024–Ninth-fastest qualifier Kue Tiz Due pulled a big upset in the $82,466 Beehive Futurity at Webber Downs Sunday when she defeated Jg Special Dynasty by a head to take home a winner's purse valued at $34,627.

Under jockey Ricardo Del Cid Kue Tiz Due broke well before taking the lead and then holding for a head win in the premier race of UQHRA's Spring Meet.

The daughter of leading third-crop sire Kvn Corona completed the 300-yard course in :15.471 seconds, equaling a 102-speed index into a 5 mph crosswind.

After finishing second in her career debut, a trial for the Beehive Futurity on April 6, trainer Kyle Valenzuela saddled the brown filly to her first career win for owner-breeder Scott Peterson. Utah-bred Kue Tiz Due, from the Dash Ta Fame mare Suzie Kue, has banked $35,527 in two starts.

Still winless in two starts, runner-up Jg Special Dynasty earned $14.015 for his second-place effort. Jorge Estrada, Jr. trains the son of multiple stakes sire Jr Dynasty Mountain for owner-breeders Israel Juarez and Sixto Garcia. Jockey Julio De La Torre had the riding call on the brown colt from the Dashing Jess Perry mare Dashing Refusal.

Favorite Buddy Bc, a son of third-crop sire Flay, finished one length back to earn $9,893 for third. Trainer Sergio Canales trains the Utah-bred for owner-breeder Ben McKinney. Oscar Villa was aboard the brown colt out of Classic Pearl Bc by Class Jump. 

Completing the Beehive Futurity field were Jr Luck Elmer, Jr Honky Tonk, Heza Flashy Eagle, Jessa Misty Summer, Quick As Jess, and Yukos Mountain. The fastest qualifier Promontory was scratched.
