Burning Follies Gets First Career Stakes Victory In Golden Driller at Fair Meadows

TULSA, OK–JUNE 15, 2024–Burning Follies dug in late to win his first career stakes following a blanket finish in the $17,500 Golden Driller Stakes at Fair Meadows Racecourse on Saturday night.

Jockey Salvador Martinez rode the 5-year-old Dash To Follies horse to a neck win over Valiants Dash. The 17.745 clocking over the 350 yards equals a 95 speed index. It was the seventh career win in 17 starts for the Texas-bred.

Trainer Raymond S. Gonzalez trains the Texas-bred for owner-breeder Double A Ranch. Bred from the Walk Thru Fire mare Burn The Kash, Burning Follies used the $8,946 Golden Driller winner's purse to boost his lifetime mark past $100,000.

Runner-up Valiants Dash earned $2,982 for second. Trainer Luz Chavira named jockey Cordarelton Benn to ride the Tempting Dash 5-year-old for owner Equestix Consulting LLC. Bill Price bred the $49,974 earner in Texas from the Valiant Hero mare BP Valiant Policy.

Rare Roy, a 3-year-old son of Sean Roy racing for owner-breeder Ismael Quijada, finished a neck back to earn $1,915 for third.  Cosme Quijada trains the Oklahoma-bred from the Especially Rare mare Rare Martha. Ridden by Rolando Raudales, Rare Roy has earned $53,370.

Bigg Wagon, Mr Hathcock, and Lota Winnin Wave Bc completed the field.
