Ms Flaming Finish Gets Second Stakes Win Of Year In Bear River at Wyoming Downs Sunday

EVANSTON, WY–JUNE 16, 2024–Ms Flaming Finish raced to her second consecutive stakes win in as many starts this season on Sunday when she defeated Pappajeto by half-a-length in the $19,500 Bear River Stakes at Wyoming Downs.

Jockey Cesar Moreno guided the post-time favorite to a 15.542, clocking over 300 yards, equaling a 94-speed index into a 15 mph crosswind. It was the eighth career win in 18 starts for the 4-year-old daughter of leading sire Mr. Jess Perry.

Abelardo Gonzalez trains the California-bred filly for owner Luis Gonzalez. George and Sandra Villalobos bred the multiple stakes winner from the Walk Thru Fire mare Flaming Chula. She picked up $11,700 today to bring her earnings total to $203,948.

Bumped midway, Pappajeto made a game effort to take second under jockey Pedro Gonzalez. David Burt trains the Pappasito 8-year-old for owner-breeders David and Linda Burt. The bay gelding, out of Streaking Secrets by Streak Of Cash, earned $3,900 for the effort.

Sb Timetoshine put a late effort under jockey Minor Arana to finish a head back in third. Alberto Gonzalez trains the Wyoming homebred for owner-breeder Steve Berry. The 5-year-old Turbulent Times mare is out of Southern Surfer Girl by Southern Cartel. He earned $1,950.

Ud Goldenboy, Rockin Jo Kool, Freight Boss, Five Bar Rockstar, Pyc Fancy Cartel, Charm, and Kaleigh Mac completed the field.
