Sizzles Boss Breaks Maiden, Convincing Winner of $36,663(US) Sales Stakes Futurity

Sizzles Boss Breaks Maiden, Convincing Winner of $36,663(US) Sales Stakes Futurity

EDMONTON, ALB—JUNE 23, 2024—Starting off a troubled career debut in his trial on June 7, Sizzles Boss rolled to a 2-1/4 length win in the $36,663(US) Sales Stakes Futurity today at Century Mile Racetrack.

Jockey Amador Hernandez guided Sizzles Boss to a 15.587 clocking, equaling a 97-speed index into a 10 mph crosswind. The Sales Stakes Futurity winner's purse was valued at $16,048(US).

Trainer Buckey A. Stockwell conditions the $11,500 AQHRA Canada QH Cup Yearling Sale graduate for owner Cinch Up Syndicate.  K. Glenn Willis bred the son of third-crop sire JD Wagon Boss in Alberta from the Sizzlin Red Corona mare Northfork Sizzle.

Runner-up Ima Hott Version, the $42,000 AQHRA Canada QH Cup Yearling Sale high-seller, earned $6,082(US) for finishing second. Trainer Misael Moreno named jockey Jesus Medina to ride the daughter of multiple stakes sire Winners Version for owners Laci Brunelle and Darby Brunelle. Ralph Danard bred the chestnut filly in Alberta from the Tres Seis mare Im Hott Ur Nott.

A head back, Flash Me A Corona earned $3,566(US) for finishing third. Trainer Craig Smith conditions the Obsessed With Corona gelding for owners Ralph Danard and Janet Patriquin. J.B. Botello had the riding call aboard the Danard Alberta-bred from the First Moonflash mare Look Back Moonflash. Flash Me A Corona was a $7,400 AQHRA Canada QH Cup Yearling Sale graduate.

O La Dee Da, Cervezas First Down, Ima Runnin Rose, and Hold On Boss completed the field. First Gold Dash, O First Comet, and One Real Boss were scratched.
