Yo Morning Delite 11-1 Upset In $100,000 Silks & Spurs Maturity at Energy Downs 307 Racing

GILLETTE, WY—JUNE 23, 2024—Yo Morning Delite (11-1) drifted in under jockey Jacob Cardenas on his way to a three-quarter length win in the $100,000 Silks & Spurs Maturity at Energy Downs 307 Racing on Sunday.

The multiple stakes-winning 4-year-old by Brindis Por Cayenne raced over the 400 yards in 20.193 seconds, equaling a 92-speed index into a 3 mph headwind. Trainer Tryston Matt saddled Yo Morning Delite to his 12th win in 19 starts.

Owned and bred by Gerald Kaul, Yo Morning Delite earned $50,000 to boost his bankroll to $138,950. Bred in Wyoming, from the Southern Corona mare Rs Afternoon Delite, Yo Morning Delite won the Rock Springs Wyoming Bred Derby and the Wyoming Accredited Stallion Owners Derby last year.

Yo Morning Delite returned $22.40 to win, $10 to place and $3.60 6 show.

Runner-up Fire Of The Mountain earned $15,000 for finishing second. Joe Hadley trains the Jr Dynasty Mountain homebred for owner-breeders Larry and Joyce Mower. Bred in Utah, from the Vital Sign mare Sheza Signature, Fire Of The Mountain has earned $57,192. Fernando Gamez was riding.

Jockey Jarred Journet, who pulled off the winner to ride stablemate Cayenneoverthemoon for trainer Tryston Matt, finished a head back in third.  Walter Larson owns the Brindis Por Cayenne 5-year-old who earned $8,500 for the effort. A multiple stakes winner, Cayenneoverthemoon, was bred in Wyoming by S Bar S from the Apollo (TB) mare Dashmetothemoon. The 5-year-old has earned $117,110.

Second To No Other, Makin Turtlemoves, Price Fixer, Eyesa Special Moxy, Unavailable, Yo Zoomin Fifty, and Baby I Du completed the field.
