Outlaw Jess Remains Undefeated With Second Victory In The Ron Cook Accredited Wyoming Bred Futurity

EVANSTON, WY–JUNE 23, 2024–Outlaw Jess scores his second career victory in the $88,600 Ron Cook Accredited Wyoming Bred Futurity at Wyoming Downs on Saturday.

Guillermo Suarez guided Outlaw Jess to the wire, taking the lead at the final stretch over A Dash Of Steffie and jockey Jose Figueroa for a 1/2-length victory. The son of Jess Paint Me clocked a 96 speed index in :16.716 seconds. The 330-yard victory paid $7.80 to win on 5/2 odds.

Trained by Kylie Valenzuela, Outlaw Jess won her trial heat to the Ron Cook Futurity, totaling two career wins, and now has $44,356 in earnings after adding the $40,756 winner's share of the purse to his bankroll.

Jim Nebeker bred Outlaw Jess out of the Maknmoves mare Josie Bassett. Chris Nebeker owns him.

A Dash Of Steffie maintained early speed but was beat at the wire for second. The Tony Hyde-trained filly has two wins from three starts and has earned $23,600 for owners Andrea and Eddie Jensen.

Ron and Laurie Moosman bred A Dash Of Steffie out of Steffies Dashn Moves by Maknmoves.

De Nasty, piloted by Cesar Moreno, was up for third. Steve Berry bred and owns the daughter of Glock in partnership with her trainer Abelardo Gonzalez. The sorrel filly won her trial heat to the Futurity, and the show in the finals boosts her earnings to $12,460.
