Jazzing Dynasty Fastest From Seven Trials For Gary Waite Maiden Stakes

EVANSTON, WY–JULY 14, 2024–Jazzing Dynasty scored her fourth win in five starts this year while posting the fastest qualifying time from seven trials contested today for the Gary Waite Maiden Stakes (not black type) at Wyoming Downs.

The ten fastest qualifiers, from 3-year-old and up maidens as of January 1, 2024, will return to Wyoming Downs on Sunday, July 28, to vie for the winner's share of a $75,000-est. purse going a distance of 330 yards.

Winless in five starts last season, Jazzing Dynasty has turned it around this year.  The 3-year-old daughter of multiple stakes sire Jr Dynasty Mountain won the Weber Downs Fillies Derby in May.

Today under jockey Jesus Valenzuela, she covered the 330 yards in 16.686 seconds, equaling a 97-speed index into a 7 mph crosswind to set the top qualifying mark for owner-trainer Wes Kellett.

Ross Herrick bred the brown filly in Utah from the Jazzing Hi mare Jazzing Jena. She has earned nearly $40,000.

Scooby Doo broke his maiden in the sixth trial to get the second fastest qualifying time of 16.697 seconds, a 97-speed index into a 15 mph crosswind. Trainer Jay Pitcher named jockey Jose Olivo to ride the son of Carters Cartel.

Ralph Hartline and Kirk Woolf own the Utah-bred gelding out of the Dash To Chivato mare Gigarad.

Jr Dynasty Mountain is the leading sire with three finalists.
