One Famous Jazz Breaks Maiden In $20,000 G.C.F.A Maiden Classic

FREDRICKSBURG, TX–JULY 21, 2024–Best late, One Famous Jazz drifted out on the way to his first career win on Sunday when he defeated Em Heza Fast Dash by three-quarters in the $20,000 G.C.F.A Maiden Classic (not black type) at Gillespie County Fairground.

Under jockey Humerto Vital, One Famous Jazz completed the 350 yard course in :17.960 seconds, equaling an 85-speed index with a 10 mph tailwind.

Trainer Jorge Rubo saddled the 4-year-old son of leading sire One Famous Eagle to his first career win in nine starts for owner Redwood QH Racing LLC. Bred in Oklahoma by Juan Medina, from the Teller Cartel mare Teller Baja, One Famous Jazz picked up $12,000 for today's win.

Hector Rivas' Em Heza Fast Dash earned $4,000 for his second-place effort. Trainer Victor Fierro named jockey Gerardo Luna to ride the Been Real Bad 3-year-old out of Juna O Toole, by Jody O Toole. Eleazar Martinez bred the gelding.

Racin Legend and jockey Victor Urieta, Jr., finished a nose back to earn $2,000 for third. Trainer Oscar Constancio, Jr. saddled the Surviving Legend 4-year-old for owner Jose Alfredo Rodriguez. Miguel  Balderas bred Racin Legend in Texas from the Racin Free mare Go Racin Girl.
