GRAND PRAIRIE, TX–OCTOBER 25, 2024–On Friday evening, 12 races were held with 108 two-year-olds competing for a spot in the $911,868 Texas Classic Futurity [G1] at Lone Star Park. The ten finalists will return on November 16th seeking to add the $405,781 winner's share of the purse to their pocketbooks.
During trial five, Fdd Dreams achieved a record-setting performance against a four mph headwind. Piloted by jockey Luis Martinez, the heavy favorite set the time to beat in 19.196 seconds with a 108-speed index, crushing Tempting Dash's 400-yard track record posted in 19.205 seconds back in 2009.
Third out of the gates, Fdd Dreams went all out to defeat Hard To Politic and his rider Juan Pulido by 1 1/4 lengths. Hard To Politic clocked the third fastest time to the finals with a 103-speed index in 19.398 seconds. Fdd Dreams' victory paid $3.80 to win on a $2.00 wager.
Conditioned by Zavier Rodriguez, Fdd Dreams has lit the board seven of eight starts with four career wins. The son of world champion sire FDD Dynasty placed second in the Rainbow Futurity [G1], third in the All American Futurity [G1] and was a finalist in the West Texas Futurity [G2. The $6,000 trial earnings increased his total bankroll to $465,019.
Fdd Dreams was bred and is owned by La Feliz Montana Ranch, LLC in New Mexico. He is out of the Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity [G1] finalist Treasured Dreams by Apollitical Jess. Treasured Dreams is a full sister to stakes winners Dreams Divine, Splendid Cause, and A Dream To Fill and out of Grade 3 winner Answer The Dream.

Trial nine only produced one finalist, Curls Magic Wagon, who clocked the second-fastest time of the night with a 103-speed index in 19.396 seconds. The son of Pyc Paint Your Wagon was ridden by Ali Rivera and dominated the race from first call, crossing the wire 2 3/4-lengths ahead of Fast Flyer.
Trainer John Stinebaugh saddled Curls Magic Wagon for owner-breeder Martin Stacy. The Oklahoma-bred colt has four wins from six starts with $109,223 in earnings. He placed fourth in the Grade 1 Heritage Place Futurity at Remington Park. He is out of the Spit Curl Jess mare Eye A Spit Curl Girl.
The third fastest qualifier, Hard To Politic, earned two wins and two seconds from four starts, including a victory in the Rainbow Juvenile Stakes. Toby Keeton trains the Louis Trey Malechek, III Oklahoma homebred out of Hardtoget by Foose. The son of Apollitical Jess has earned $54,187.
Only one filly made it into the final ten. Dk Marney Jess, ridden by Nestor Duran, won trial eight for the fourth fastest time. Even after a stumbled start, the daughter of Apollitical Jess dominated the field, clocking a 101-speed index with a wire-to-wire victory by one 3/4-lengths.
Juan Diaz, Jr. trains Dk Markey Jess for Cuadra La Presita of Mexico. The bay fill out of Marney Jo by Corona Cartel has seven wins from eight starts and $490,459 in the bank, including the Sam Houston Futurity [G2] and Louisiana Downs Futurity [G2].
