GRAND PRAIRIE, TX–NOVEMBER 9, 2024–Multiple stakes winner Livewires Turnpike got a new 400 yard Paint track record at Lone Star Park Saturday night when he defeated post-time favorite and stablemate Wire Tap by a neck in the $15,750 Olympia Joe Stakes.

Ridden by jockey Francisco Calderon, the horse dueled early and lasted while completing the 400 yards in 19.457 seconds, a 102 speed index.  The Appaloosa Major Tom set the previous record of 19.575 seconds when he won the Speedhorse Paint Futurity(G1) on November 2, 2013.

Trainer Matt Whitekiller saddled Livewires Turnpike to his 13th career win for owner Bryan Hawk. Bred in Oklahoma by Nolan Pevehouse, from the Pyc Paint Your Wagon mare Wagon On Turnpike, Livewires Turnpike earned $8,347 to boost his bankroll to $246,369.
