GRAND PRAIRIE, TX–NOVEMBER 9, 2024–Fasted qualified Flyin Chilitos returned tonight as the post-time favorite to win the $106,907 Grade 1 Texas Hero Futurity from gate-to-wire at Lone Star Park.
Bumped at the start, jockey David Alvarez rode the son of a leading first-crop sire, Chilitos, to a 19.575 clocking, equaling 98 speed index. It was the second win in five starts for the gelding who entered the race off the fastest qualifying time in the October 18 trials. He earned $40,625 for tonight's effort.
Trainer Leonel Hernandez conditions Flyin Chilitos for owner Omar Paredes. Claudia Miranda bred the gelding in Texas from the Louisiana Senator mare Sensational Senator.

Runner-up in the Colors Of The Alamo Paint & Appaloosa Futurity(G3) and the Colors Of Houston Futurity(G2) earlier this year Flyin Chilitos has earned nearly $66,500.
Runner-up Pt Rose races for owner Three Bar T Quarter Horses and is trained by Toby Keeton. Luis Vivanco rode the Painted Turnpike 2-year-old out of Sister Rosie Bug by Crm Livewire. Bryan Hawk and Chuck Bowlan bred the bay colt in Oklahoma. He earned $18,174.
Og Nikki Sixx finished one length back to earn $11,760 for third place. Trainer Dee Keener tapped Roman Cruz to ride the Crm Livewire 2-year-old for owner 918 Bloodstock. Bred in Oklahoma by Marlene Vela, from the Spit Curl Jess mare Spittin Jess, Og Nikkie Sixx was third in the Grade 1 Speedhorse Graham Paint & Appaloosa Futurity(G1) at Remington Park last June and has banked $60,904.
Ima Chili, Moonpike, El Gran Martino, Pfr Road Rage, and Painted Diva completed the field. Knuckle Buster and Wf Jess Candy were scratched.
