$40,000 Heritage Place Sale Graduate Lotta Big Love Gets First Stakes Win In Texas Classic Juvenile

$40,000 Heritage Place Sale Graduate Lotta Big Love Gets First Stakes Win In Texas Classic Juvenile

GRAND PRAIRIE, TX–NOVEMBER 16, 2024–A field of eight juvenile horses initiated the first stakes race of the evening at Lone Star Park on Friday, competing against a headwind of 6 mph. Lotta Big Love emerged victorious, achieving his first career stakes win in the $47,993 Texas Classic Juvenile Stakes while recording a speed index of 88.

Trainer Toby Keeton named Bryan Candanosa to ride Lotta Big Love in a stunning 400-yard victory over Two Two 22, piloted by Edwin Escobedo. The son of Big Lew started in the middle of the pack but surged ahead to take the lead by the first call, maintaining it to the wire for a half-length win in 19.963 seconds.

Mystery Kisser, ridden by Francisco Calderon, hung in for third a head behind Two Two 22. Lotta Big Love’s winning effort paid $7.20 to win on 5-2 odds.

The $21,257 payday boosted Lotta Big Love’s earnings total to $34,978. Tonight’s victory improved the sorrel gelding’s record to two wins, two seconds from four starts. His other first-place finish was in the Rainbow Futurity trials, but he did not qualify for the finals.

Owner Guns Up Racing purchased Lotta Big Love for $40,000 in last year’s Heritage Place Yearling Sale. Reliance Ranches, LLC bred him in Oklahoma out of AQHA Dam of Distinction Lotta Love For Robyn, a daughter of First Down Dash. He is a half-brother to Grade 1 winners Lotta Blue Man ($935,399) and Tres Friends ($932,674).

Trainer Michael Joiner conditions runner-up Two Two 22. The winning son of Flying Cowboy 123 has earned $25,448 from six starts.

Breeder Bill Robbins sold Two Two 22 to his current owner, West Texas Racing Partnership, for $100,000 in the Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale. He is out of Dash And Sass by Valiant Hero.

Trainer Jed Vane saddled third-place finisher Mystery Kisser for owner Dunn Ranch. The son of Kiss My Hocks has lit the board four of six starts with one win and $20,199 in the bank. Monty McNair bred the $41,000 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale graduate out of the One Famous Eagle mare One Famous Mystery V.

Louisiana Mystery, Fast Flyer 123, Valiant Painted Sign, Favorite Mvp Z and Mahome Stone complete the order of finish. Favorite Sunset and Seis Chilitis were scratched.
