GRAND PRAIRIE, TX–NOVEMBER 16, 2024–Coming off of his track record-setting time in the trials, fastest qualifier FDD Dreams returned to Lone Star Park on Saturday for a stirring head victory in the $911,868 Texas Classic Futurity [G1] finals.

Jockey Luis Martinez, who qualified FDD Dreams in the trials, returned for the mount in the finals of Lone Star Park’s richest race. After a bumped start, the duo quickly rallied down the field with a driving finish in 18.493 seconds, resulting in a 101 speed index. The post-time favorite’s victory paid $5.80.

Hard To Politic, ridden by Juan Pulido, had the early lead but was outfinished at the wire by FDD Dreams. Curls Magic Wagon, piloted by Ali Rivera, lasted for third a length behind the runner-up.

FDD Dreams has lit the board eight of nine starts with five career wins and $870,901 in total earnings after cashing in the $405,782 winner’s share of the Grade 1 purse.

Conditioned by trainer Xavier Rodriguez, FDD Dreams won his first stakes race tonight.

Starting his career at Sunland Park, he broke his maiden in his first out, winning the West Texas Futurity [G2] trial, but finished dead last in the finals.

His journey got better at Ruidoso Downs. FDD Dreams won his trial heats to the Ruidoso and Rainbow Futurities, qualifying with the fastest time for the Rainbow Futurity [G1], but finished short for second place in the finals. Then, he followed up with a third-place finish in the Grade 1 All American Futurity finals.

So tonight’s victory in the Grade 1 Texas Classic Futurity, following his 400-yard track record-setting time in the trials, is a redeeming reward for owners-breeders La Feliz Montana Ranch, LLC.

The New Mexico homebred is out of the Apollitical Jess mare Treasured Dreams, a full sister to stakes winners Dreams Divine, Splendid Cause and A Dream To Fill. She is a half-sister to Grade 2 winners Dreamsville. He is a full brother to multiple Grade 1 finalist Elmer. His second dam is Grade 3 winner Answer The Dream by Tres Seis.

The $200,611 payday for second boosted Hard To Politic’s earnings to $254,798 for owner-breeder Louis Trey Malechek, III. The son of world champion sire Apollitical Jess has won twice and placed second three times from five starts, including a victory in the Rainbow Juvenile Stakes at Ruidoso Downs. Toby Keeton trains the Oklahoma-bred gelding out of Hardtoget by Foose.

Trained by John Stinebaugh, Curls Magic Wagon earned $100,306 for his third-place finish, increasing his lifetime total to $209,529. The four-time-winning son of Pyc Paint Your Wagon placed fourth in the Heritage Place Futurity [G1] in June. The Martin Stacy Oklahoma homebred colt is out of Eye A Spit Curl Girl by Spit Curl Jess.

Aguila Rapida, Machiavelli, Kj Born To Be wild, Cowboy Blue Z, Firey Eagle, Dk Marney Jess and Painted Eclispe round out the order of finish.
