PHOENIX, AZ—NOVEMBER 29, 2024—Multiple stakes winner Jessaprimadonna picked up her third consecutive stakes victory on Saturday when she defeated Dasha Dynasty by a neck in the $40,000 Wayne Brasher Memorial Stakes at Turf Paradise. Hot Girl Summer B was another neck back in the blanket finish to get third.
Jessaprimadonna, under jockey J.B. Botello, dueled Dasha Dynasty early to take the lead near the wire, completing the 300 yards in 15.597 seconds, a 95-speed index.
Owner-trainer Laurie Ferguson conditions the 6-year-old daughter of multiple stakes sire One Sweet Jess. It was the 14th career win in 34 starts and the $23,600 Brasher winner's purse boosted her lifetime earnings to $152,163.
Bred in Louisiana by Leroy Janacek, Jr., from the Favorite Cartel mare Favorite Primadonna, Jessaprimadonna was making her first start in the US since getting claimed as a 2-year-old for $10,000 at Evangeline Downs.
Three races later, she won the Princess Derby at Ajax Downs in Canada. She has raced exclusively in the North country at Ajax, Century Mile, and Century Downs before today. The Wayne Brasher was the mare's eighth career stakes win.
Town Policy Stakes winner and multiple Grade 1 finalist Dasha Dynasty earned $7,600 for second. Matthew Fales saddled the FDD Dynasty horse for owner Robyn Gordon. S-Quarter K LLC bred the 5-year-old in Washington from multiple champion producer Dasha Freda by Mr Jess Perry. Cruz Mendez had the riding call aboard the $131,807 earner.
Dasha Dynasty was making his first start this year after breeding his first book in 2024. He will stand the 2025 season at Fales Ranch in Coolidge, Arizona.
A late surge by Hot Girl Summer B earned the Grade 3-placed daughter of Jess Louisiana Blue $3,600 for finishing third. Trainer Havid Canez named jockey Elias Gutierrez to ride the Louisiana bred mare for owner Highland Park Racing Partners. Bred in Texas by Bielau Oaks, from the FDD Dynasty mare Greystone Girl, Hot Girl Summer B has earned $61,415.
Rockin Jo Kool, Whiskey Wes, Bo Times 9, Urthpeanuttomybutter, Mister Bigg, Miss Racy Seis, and Holiday Train completed the field.
