Sm Temp Me Boy Sets Top Schooling Race Time From 85 Juveniles at Louisiana Downs Tuesday
Sm Temp Me Boy, under jockey Fidel Perez, posted the fastest time from 85 open and state-bred juveniles that participated in 16 schooling races on Tuesday at Louisiana Downs.

BOSSIER CITY, LA–FEBRUARY 4, 2025–Sm Temp Me Boy, a $15,000 TQHA Yearling Sale graduate, posted the fastest time from 85 open and state-bred juveniles that participated in 16 schooling races on Tuesday at Louisiana Downs.

Contested over a distance of 220 yards, participants had to be nominated to the Grade 2 $400,000-est.Louisiana Downs Futurity or the restricted Grade 2 $600,000-est. Mardi Gras Futurity.

State-breds and open-breds were confined to their own races today, however the card was mixed in order run. In past years the track had run two days of schooling races, with opens on one day and states on the other.

Valentina Niebes, under jockey Jorge Garcia, posted the fastest Louisiana-bred time during Wednesday's 16 schooling races at Louisiana Downs.

Sm Temp Me Boy, a son of Dont Temp Me, posted the fastest open-bred clocking of 12.241 seconds, the second fastest on the day for owner Jesus Perez. Trainer Saul Ramirez named jockey Fidel Perez to ride the colt out of The Roxy Girl by The Louisiana Cartel in Race 9.

Valentina Niebes recorded the fastest state-bred time of 12.434 seconds in Race 12. Trainer Guillermo Martinez tapped jockey Jorge Garcia to ride the Paint Me Perry filly out of Chita Deniebe by First Streakin Lee. Owned by Rene Adan Rodrguez, Valentina Niebes recorded the 12th fastest time of the day.

The trials for Louisiana Downs Futurity-G2 will be held on March 6 and 7. The Mardi Gras Futurity trials will be run on March 8 and 9. The finals for both races will run on March 29 at a distance of 300 yards.
