FARMINGTON, NM–APRIL 25, 2025–U R Bella Csj secured her first career victory today (Friday) by posting the fastest qualifying time for the restricted Grade 2 New Mexico Breeders' Futurity at SunRay Park in Farmington.
The ten fastest qualifiers, determined from five trial races conducted today, will return to SunRay Park on Sunday, May 25, to compete for a portion of the $120,000-added purse, racing a distance of 350 yards.
U R Bella Csj started rapidly and, under the guidance of jockey Emilio Tapia, defeated S Super King by a nose in the fourth trial. Her time of 17.378 seconds, achieving a speed index of 93 despite a 12 mph crosswind, was the fastest recorded for the day.
By the stakes sire Bella Faccia, the filly trained by Julian Honesto entered the race following a troubled fifth-place finish in her career debut at Sunland Park on March 29.
Owned by Christian Olivas, the New Mexico-bred juvenile is out of U R A Fury and by Furyofthewind. Ronald Uibarri is her breeder, and she earned $4,200 for her trial victory.
The runner-up, S Super King, posted the second-fastest time of 17.382 seconds, also achieving a speed index of 93 for owner CHR Racing. Trainer Tony Sedillo appointed jockey Luis Martinez to ride the Eye Am King gelding from the Jess A Chicks mare, Sukis Super Chic.
S Super King, also competing in his second career start, was bred by Meluking Ranch LLC.
