FARMINGTON, NM–APRIL 25, 2025–Bouncing off a third-place finish in her career debut, a trial for the Remington Park Futurity(RG1) on April 5, Swift D Swift broke her maiden today while posting the top qualifying time for the Four Corners Futurity at SunRay Park.
The ten fastest qualifiers, from five trial races conducted today, will return to SunRay Park on Sunday, May 25, to compete for the winner's portion of the $75,000-added purse, racing a distance of 350 yards.
Swift D Swift showed speed early as she drew away under Jacob Enriquez to win by 1-1/2 lengths in the fastest clocking of 17.332 seconds, a 94 speed index into a 12 mph crosswind.
Trainer Clinton Crawford saddled the daughter of champion second-crop sire Uncle D for owner Kaie Larson. Renee Wilson bred the gray filly in Oklahoma from the Major Rime mare A Major Chamisa. She earned $3,000 for the trial win.
Ring A Ling Ding bounced off a troubled eighth-place finish in the Grade 2 $365,271 West Texas Futurity in his last start to get his third win in four starts for owners Kenneth Wallin, Cherie Wallin, and Cade Wallin.
Under jockey Alfredo Sigala, the colt by first-crop sire Pa Cha Ching posted the second fastest clocking of 17.350 seconds, a 94 speed index into a 12 mph crosswind. Tony E. Sedillo trains the New Mexico-bred from the Kiss My Hocks mare Kiss On The Horizon.
Bred by R. Armor, S.F., and Helen Henderson, Ring A Ling A Ding has earned $30,225.
Rc Asticos Kitten, a Texas-bred daughter of first-crop sire Astico, broke her maiden in her third career start for owner-breeder RC Racing LLC and trainer Jorge Morales-Flores.
Jockey Jacob Enriquez rode the filly from the Apollitical Jess mare Apollitical Kitten to the third-fastest time in the closing trial. The Texas homebred won by a half in 17.470, a 90 speed index into a 12 mph crosswind.
Use Of Force and Ab Distinctive Blood each recorded a time of 17.726 seconds to tie for the 10th qualifying spot. They will shake to see who competes in the May 25 final.
