VINTON, LA–APRIL 25, 2025–Tf Jess A Eagle got up in the last jump to deny C The Power by a head in the $40,000 Titanium Stakes on opening night of the Delta Downs 2025 live Quarter Horse racing Season.

Ridden by jockey Rodrigo Vallejo, Tf Jess A Eagle was close throughout and best late while he completed the 300 yards in 15.282 seconds, a 96 speed index.

Guadalupe Tristan conditions the multiple stakes-winning son of One Dashing Eagle for owners Jose Rodriguez and J C Racing Stable. Tate Farms bred the five-time earner from the Sir Runway Dash mare Tf Jess A Runaway.

The $24,000 Titanium winner's purse boosted the 4-year-old's earnings to $116,520. Tf Jess A Eagle won the EVD Dash last season.  He rewarded backers with $19.60 to win, $7.40 to place, and $5 to show.

Runner-up C The Power earned $8,000 for his effort.  Owner-trainer Juan Montoya tapped jockey Noe Castaneda to ride the Louisiana-bred son of Grade 1 sire Power Jam (TB).  Ken O'Brien bred C The Power from the First Down Dash mare High Plains Prize. Third in the BOCO Overnight Stakes at Sandy Ride in his previous start, C The Power has banked $63,423.

Third-place finisher Caliente Operator was making his first start this season for owner Jose Antonio De La Rosa and trainer Kaite Carlos. Eleazar Hernandez had the riding call aboard the multiple stakes-winning son of Corona Caliente from the Dashing Val mare A Dashing Operator.  Ocie Lee Charles, Jr. bred the earner of $163,452 in Louisiana.

Completing the field were Xdw Jess A Rogue, Kp Paintmeasymphony, Five Card Blood, Apolitical Train, Hes Bold As Corona, Jes Winnin Cartel, and Nbc Mr Booz.

Delta Downs will conclude its racing opening weekend on Saturday night with a 10-race program starting at 6:15 pm. The action will include nine trials for this year’s $194,020 Old South Futurity.
