VINTON, LA–APRIL 25, 2025–There’s no denying Pk Pure Rogue has what it takes to win. After a photo-finish mash-up at the wire, the Jose Rodriguez-owned gelding is now two for two in stakes victories for 2025 after winning the $50,000 Miss Polly Classc (G2) on Friday at Delta Downs.

Pk Pure Rogue broke late from the gates, but after a late surge at the wire, he defeated Relentless Coronado by a head in a photo finish. He won the 400-yard stakes in 19.885 seconds, clocking a 95 speed index. The winning effort under jockey Rodrigo Vallejo paid $10.00 on 4-1 odds.

Coming off a first-place finish in the BOCO Overnight Stakes at Sandy Ridge, tonight’s $30,000 payday boosted his bankroll again to $278,365. Trained by Guadalupe Tristan, the five-year-old gelding has lit the board 21 of 28 starts with nine wins, including last year’s Vals Fortune Stakes [G2], Open Me A Corona Stakes [G2], and Opelousa Stakes [G3].

Phatt Kat Ranch bred the five-time stakes-winning son of Heza Fast Rogue in Louisiana. Pk Pure Rogue was a $9,200 sales graduate from the 2020 LQHBA Yearling Sale out of Kinky Boots by Agouti.

Relentless Coronado, piloted by Arturo Alvarez, also made a late surge at the wire, but just missed for second.  The daughter of Hes Relentless has six wins from 21 starts with $185,186 in the bank, including the Eastex Stakes [G2] last month.

Reliance Ranches LLC bred Relentless Corona in Oklahoma out of the Corona Cartel mare Mai Corona. The four-year-old filly sold twice at auction, once in the Heritage Place Yearling Sale for $38,000, then again in last year’s Heritage Place Fall Mixed Sale for $49,000. Trainer Viviane Hill saddled her for owner Daniel Miranda.

Gbh Fiscal Toni, with Cesar Segura in the irons, made a late rush for the wire to finish only a head back for third. The son of The Fiscal Cliff boasts a record of 4-3-3 from 33 starts with $106,230 in earnings.

The four-year-old gelding, out of Streakin For Toni by Streakin La Jolla, was a $10,200 repurchase in the 2022 LQHBA Yearling Sale. Breeder Gary Hartstack owns Gbh Fiscal Cliff in partnership with Marco Ramirez and John Bond. Jose Sanchez conditions him.

One Sweet Boss, Five Bar Jess Cartel, Captain Eagle, Lz King Of The Kings, Lil Too Dirty, Into The Grey, and Mda La Mos Freight B complete the order of finish.
