Owners Cuadra San Martin Dominate With 1-2-3 In The Mexico Futurity [RG3], Rey De Manny on Top

MEXICO CITY, MEX–MAY 4, 2025–Cuadra San Martin, who owns six of the ten finalists in the $129,952 Mexico Futurity [RG3], dominated the top three positions with Rey De Manny, Dk Misty Cartel, and Payasa De Manny.

Fastest qualifier from the trials, Rey De Manny, returned to the finals on Sunday at the Hipodromo de las Americas, determined to keep his record undefeated.

With rider Nestor Duran in the irons, Rey De Manny led the 250-yard stakes from gate to wire, clocking a 98 speed index in 12.84 seconds. The winning call paid $1.55 on the favorite.

Stablemates Dk Misty Cartel, ridden by Emmanuel Cruz, and Payasa De Manny, piloted by Alejandro Gomez, finished second and third, respectively, each a length apart.

Trainer Asheley Cirilo saddled Rey De Manny, but Luis Cruz trains the Dk Misty Cartel and Payasa De Manny for owner Cuadra San Martin.

The $53,488 winner’s share of the purse boosted Rey De Manny's bank account to over $56,000, improving his record to two for two.

Abelardo Gallegos bred Rey De Manny out of the Jesse James Jr mare Jess Blazin Queen. The $43,243 Subasta Selecta sale graduate is a full brother to last year’s Mexico Futurity champion Kin Krash, also owned by Cuadra San Martin.

Cuadra La Presita bred runner-up Dk Misty Cartel out of the First Moonflash mare Mingle Tingle. This two-year-old filly now has $24,165 in earnings from two starts.

Payasa De Manny now has a record of 1-1-1 from three starts and $18,793 in the bank. The Gallegos-bred filly is out of Coconut Crystal by Separatist.

Rey De Manny and Payasa De Manny are by leading champion sire Krash Cartel. Dk Misty Cartel is the daughter of champion sire Danny Cartel.

Mr Do Chicks, Buu, Dk Lisboa Cartel, La American Chic, K To Be Queen, Kc Shes Cartel, and Jm Banan Eage round out the order of finish.
