GILLETTE, WY—JUNE 15, 2025—In a thrilling dash down the 110-yard straightaway, Bee A Freight Train surged from the gate and never looked back, holding on to win the $18,000 Bragging Rights Overnight Stakes at Energy Downs 307 Racing on Sunday afternoon.
The 5-year-old sorrel gelding stopped the timer in 6.977 seconds, earning a 91 speed index despite running into an 8 mph headwind on a fast track.
Owned by Alberto Avila, trained by Sergio Canales, and ridden confidently by Jacob Cardenas, Bee A Freight Train broke on top from post 7 and maintained a slight advantage to the wire, fending off a late bid to win by half a length.
The Utah-bred son of Freighttrain B, out of N Bee C by Apollitical Jess, was bred by Darian Burt. The win earned the multiple stakes winner $9,000, to increase his lifetime earnings to $131,237. Bee A Freight Train paid a generous $44.00 to win at odds of 21-1.
Indeed, a 4-year-old gelding breaking from the rail, ran a game second for owner Jose Castaneda, trainer Jose Chavez, and jockey Valente Vorrath. The stakes winning son of Dominyun earned $3,600 for his narrow loss by a nose. He was bred in Oklahoma by his owner from the Apollo (TB) mare Dancing Iam. Indeed has banked $107,677 in 26 starts.
