RUIDOSO DOWNS, NM—June 15, 2025—Luxurie delivered a commanding front-running performance to win the $346,008 Mountain Top New Mexico Bred Quarter Horse Futurity (RG2) at Ruidoso Downs, edging out King Of The Tide and fastest qualifier Jingle Wood in a dramatic 350-yard dash for state-bred juveniles.

The bay gelding stopped the clock in 17.598 seconds over a fast track, earning a 91 speed index with a 5 mph tailwind.

Trained by James Gonzales III and piloted to victory by jockey Christian Cardenas, Luxurie surged out of the gate from post six and never looked back, fending off multiple challengers to win by a head.

Bred in New Mexico by MJ Farms, the two-year-old son of multiple stakes sire Big Daddy Cartel out of champion mare Astica by Jesse James Jr is owned by Triple R Racing Stables LLC, Wallace Lynn Landrum, Ted Rushing, and Rancho El 48 LLC.

The $300,000 Ruidoso New Mexico Bred Yearling Sale graduate earned $145,324 for the win. He broke his maiden at first asking in the May 30 trials and is now 2-for-2 with just under $150,000 in earnings.

King Of he Tide, a $130,000 Ruidoso  purchase, finished a determined second under champion jockey Ricky Ramirez.

The sorrel gelding by leading New Mexico sire Eye Am King out of Ms Riptide by Ocean Runaway is trained by S. Wood and campaigned by owners E. Gene Bradley, Tod Bradley, and Ware Brown.

King Of The Tide crossed the wire just a head behind the winner, earning $62,282 and posting a 90 speed index. He has a (3) 1-1-1 record and earnings of $79,842.

Third-place finisher, fastest qualifier Jingle Wood, trained by Clinton Crawford and ridden by Jacob Enriquez, rallied impressively after being bumped at the break.

The $77,000 Ruidoso New Mexico Bred Sale graduate is a bay gelding by Woodbridge out of Ms Jingles by Bigtime Favorite, bred by MJ Farms and owned by Downtime Enterprises LLC, Christopher J. Lykins, and Melody Lykins.

Runner-up in the New Mexican Spring Fling earlier this hear, he finished a half-length behind the runner-up and collected $34,601 and boost his earning to $50,691.

In order of finish, the also-rans were: Holliday (4th), Docs Best Answer (5th), Mw Heart of a Hero (6th), Tintero (7th), Tres Patriots (8th), Mw B Cause Im Sexy (9th), and A Peppermint Moon (10th).
