ALTOONA, IA—JUNE 16, 2025—Restricted Grade 1-placed Ima Bigg Flash posted the fastest qualifying time during a seven-trial session held today (June 16), at Prairie Meadows for the $208,650 Prairie Meadows Gold Futurity final, which is scheduled for July 6.
The two-year-old gray gelding stopped the clock in 18.179 seconds, into a five mph headwind for 350 yards, winning the seventh and final trial by a half-length over Relentless Country under jockey Ali Rivera.
Trained by John A. Stinebaugh for LS Racing, Inc., Ima Bigg Flash is a 2024 Heritage Place Yearling Sale graduate purchased for $47,000. He was bred in Oklahoma by the Flashing My Pjs Partnership and is by multiple stakes sire Big Daddy Cartel out of Flashing My Pjs, a daughter of First Moonflash.
Ima Bigg Flash got his second career win three starts with his only loss a close finish in the $868,455 Remington Park Oklahoma-Bred Futurity(RG1) in his last start April 19. Ima Big Flash's second dam is the champion mare Pj Chick In Blanck and he has earned $108,580.
The second-fastest qualifying time came from Fast Draw, who covered the distance in 18.196 to win the sixth trial by a head over Proved Jess Patriot. The sorrel gelding is by champion Moonin The Eagle and out of Fast N Fancy, a daughter of Pyc Paint Your Wagon.
Owned by Dutch Masters III and trained by Edward Ross Hardy, Fast Draw was bred in Missouri by Bobby D. Cox. He was ridden to his first career victory in three starts by Angel O. Ramirez.
Fast Draw's dam won the Speedhorse Futurity(G3) and is a sister to six black type including Heritage Place Derby(G3) winner Pyc Fun N Fancy Remington Park Oklahoma-Bred Futurity winner Im A Fancy Pyc and Sgt Pepper Feature Handicap winner Stanley Cartel.
Blaze Of Gold delivered the third-fastest qualifying performance in trial seven, winning his heat with a time of 18.203. Ridden by Francisco Raul Ramirez, Jr. and trained by Jason L. Olmstead, the bay gelding is owned and bred by Grant R Cox Revocable Trust.
Blaze Of Gold is by leading sire Apollitical Jess and out of Src Gold, a daughter of Pyc Paint Your Wagon. A brother to champion 2-year-old gelding Apollitical Gold, Blaze Of Gold was repurchased for $59,000 at the 2024 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale.
Blaze Of Gold broke his maiden in the trials after a second-place effort in a maiden race in his last start May 2 at Remington Park. He has earned $11,275
The Prairie Meadows Gold Futurity final, open to two-year-old Quarter Horses, will offer an estimated purse of $208,650 at 350 yards on July 6.
