ELY, NV–AUGUST 16, 2025–Drive broke sharply and held her advantage to the wire, capturing Saturday’s $8,400 Yellow Rose Fillies and Mares Stakes (not black type) at White Pine Racing.
The sorrel 4-year-old filly stopped the clock in 15.252 for 300 yards, securing her second career stakes victory. Luis Collazo had the winning ride for owner/trainer Adrian Zavala.
Bred in Oklahoma by Flag Ranch LLC, Drive is by Valiant Hero. She is out of Lil Baby Eagle, by One Famous Eagle, and was a $21,000 purchase at the 2022 Heritage Place Fall Mixed Sale. From 18 career starts, she now owns six wins, four seconds, and three thirds, with earnings of $64,176.
Runner-up honors went to Milagro Lady, a 5-year-old sorrel mare by Rite Favorite. She is out of Ping Pong Patty, by Jesse James Jr, and was bred in New Mexico by R. Stratton/S. & N. Edwards. Racing for owner Neale Edwards and trained by Kayla Warren, she has five wins and $213,641 from 28 career starts. Jayden Ironeyes rode the mare to a late-closing second.
Finishing third was Vvr No Refunds, a 9-year-old bay mare by Coronas Velvet. She is out of Apollo Storm, by Apollo (TB), bred in Wyoming by Mike Lipp. Owned and trained by Juan Hernandez, she has six career wins and $28,734 in earnings from 17 starts. Oscar Cervantes was aboard.
The remaining order of finish was Go My First Doll in fourth, Juanita Dynasty fifth, One Toxic Lady sixth, and Charm seventh.
