BURLEY, ID–AUGUST 16, 2025–Two featured races at the Cassia County Fair showcased fast finishes and standout performances on Saturday afternoon, as Dashing Deluxe surged late to take the Quarter Horse Futurity (not black type), while Aint Shee Something went wire-to-wire in the Mixed Breed Derby (not black type).

Dashing Deluxe Prevails in Quarter Horse Futurity

In the $5,750 Quarter Horse Futurity (not black type) for 2-year-olds at 250 yards, Dashing Deluxe, a brown filly by Eagle Deluxe out of Bipty Dash by Heza Fast Dash) drew clear in the final yards to secure victory under jockey Angel Armenta.

The filly, bred in Louisiana by Erin Chrisman and purchased for $8,500 at the 2024 Heritage Place Yearling Sale, is campaigned by Edilberto, Luis and Salvador Gomez and trained by Luis Gomez.

Breaking a step slow, Dashing Deluxe rallied with a strong late surge to complete the distance in 13.222 seconds over a fast track, earning the winner’s share of $3,450.

Perky Lights, a sorrel filly by The Marfa Lights owned by Martin Vega and trained by Ramiro Fregoso, finished second, two lengths back.

Dos Cincos, a filly by Jess Got Easier bred and owned by Alejandro Salas and trained by Farrol Cunningham, closed for third, beaten a nose for second.

The Futurity’s final order of finish included Thought It Deluxe in fourth and Mammazita in fifth.

Aint Shee Something Scores in Mixed Breed Derby

The Mixed Breed Derby (not black type), worth $5,900 and contested at 250 yards, went to Idaho-bred Aint Shee Something, a 3-year-old bay filly by Carters Cartel out of Lynda Dasher by Igotyourtac.

Bred and owned by Pedro Vega, and trained by Ramiro Fregoso, the filly was guided by jockey Never Marin to a front-running win.

Breaking sharply from the gate, Aint Shee Something never trailed, stopping the clock in 13.115 seconds. The victory was worth $3,540 to her connections.

Orange Vodka Deluxe, a sorrel gelding by Eagle Deluxe out of Orange Vodka Shooter by Triple Vodka, owned by Rod and Cinda Thomas and trained by Larry Chapel, closed strongly for second, a half-length back.

Another half-length behind in third came Sheknowsshepunky, a daughter of Daguerre bred and owned by Edward Jamison, trained by Glen Jamison, and ridden by Jesus Flores.

Ma Pistol Man, Tillys Kiss A Cowboy, and The Perfect Girl 2 completed the order of finish.
