SUNLAND, NM–MARCH 13, 2026– Making her career debut, Tempting Lu posted the fastest qualifying time to the $335,000 West Texas Futurity (G2) during trials held Friday at Sunland Park. The 10 fastest qualifiers will return for the final scheduled April 4 at Sunland Park.

Tempting Lu delivered an impressive performance in the sixth trial. Breaking in third and drifting out briefly, the filly quickly gathered herself before finishing strongly to score a 2 1/4-length victory. She stopped the clock in :15.002, earning a 99 speed index.

Bred by Simmons Racing, Tempting Lu is owned by AA Farms LLC, trained by Eric Valenzuela, and was ridden by Jose Enriquez. The filly is by champion sire Tempting Dash, sire of more than 460 winners with progeny earnings exceeding $23.3 million, and is out of the Heza Fast Dash mare La Mos Chingono, a winner.

The second fastest qualifier, Tater Hill Senator, captured the seventh trial with a 1 1/2-length wire-to-wire victory, stopping the timer in :15.078 for a 97 speed index.

Bred by Wootan Racing, the gelding is owned by Haskell and Jacque Rich, trained by Clinton Crawford, and was ridden by Jacob Enriquez. Tater Hill Senator is by leading sire Cyber Monday, whose progeny have already earned more than $1.1 million from only two crops to race. He is out of the stakes-placed Shaw Island Senator ($58,641), a half-sister to Kathys Star Teller ($23,101). His third dam is graded stakes winner Kathys Star Quest ($415,048), a full sister to stakes-placed runner Memories On The Run ($84,375). The gelding was a $40,000 purchase at the Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale. 

$32,000 Ruidoso Select Sale graduate AB Ms Robyn secured the third fastest qualifying time after winning the 12th trial by a head in a wire-to-wire effort, also stopping the clock in :15.113 and earning a 96 speed index.

Bred by Rancho El Cabresto Inc., the filly is owned by Jose Santos Cano, trained by Heber Deyta-Melendez, and ridden by Nestor Duran. She is by champion sire Apollitical Blood, sire of more than 300 winners with progeny earnings exceeding $19 million.

AB Ms Robyn is a half-sister to AJ Remember Me ($455,370), a Grade 1-placed runner, and Superfli ($38,000), runner-up in the All American Juvenile. She is out of a full sister to Grade 1 winner Tres Friends ($932,674) and a half-sister to stakes winners Lotta Blues Man ($935,399), Big Lew Love ($88,096), RR Lotta Runforrobyn ($96,366), and Lotta Big Love ($34,978). The filly’s second dam is Dam of Distinction Lotta Love For Robyn ($238,696).

The West Texas Futurity (G2) final will be contested April 4 at Sunland Park.
