VINTON, LA–MAY 1, 2026– Twelve trial heats contested Friday night at Delta Downs produced the finalists for the $297,965 Laddie Futurity (RG2), with the fastest 10 qualifiers advancing to the Futurity final and the next 10 fastest earning berths in the Juvenile.

The finals for both divisions are scheduled to be run May 23 at 330 yards for Louisiana-bred two-year-old colts and geldings.

Headlining the qualifiers for the futurity is Man For Cos, who posted the fastest time of the night with a sharp :16.759 seconds and a 95 speed index while winning his trial in a head-bobbing finish.

The gelding remains undefeated in two career starts. A homebred for Ruse Ranch LLC, he is trained by Jose Garcia and ridden by Nestor Duran.

A $6,500 repurchase from the LQHBA Yearling Sale, Man For Cos is sired by leading sire KJ Mucho Macho Man and out of the Tee Cos mare Just For Cos, a winner. His female family includes stakes winner Royal Bushwhacker ($290,770), stakes winner Andelay Baby Andalay ($103,356), and champion Really Dash ($86,992).

Second-fastest qualifier Apollitical Latino was just a nose behind the top qualifier in the same trial, stopping the clock in :16.760 seconds while also earning a 95 speed index.

Bred by Legacy Ranch Inc., the gelding is owned by Jaime Cardenas, trained by Josue Ponce and ridden by Jorge Javier Garcia.

A $77,000 LQHBA Yearling Sale purchase, he is sired by champion Apollitical Blood, winner of the All American Derby (G1), and out of the Corona Cartel mare LR Miss Atina. A half-brother to graded stakes winner Mister Appolitical ($317,368), he now owns a record of 3-0-1-1.

Third-fastest qualifier Awesome Eagle V delivered a strong performance in his trial, drawing clear late to win by 1 1/4 lengths in :16.778 seconds while earning a 94 speed index.

red and owned by Oscar Edel Moreno, the gelding is trained by Jose Lopez and was ridden by Leonardo Rodriguez. A $32,000 repurchase from the LQHBA Yearling Sale, he is sired by All American Derby (G1) winner Gold Heart Eagle V and out of the Fast Prize Jordan mare Oh Shez Awesome. His female family includes stakes winners Zupers Quick Dash ($471,129) and MCM Dashmaster ($471,129). He now holds a record of 3-2-0-0 with earnings of $27,456 and was coming off a finalist effort in the Mardi Gras Futurity (G2).

Leading the Juvenile qualifiers is BBs Fast Prize, who finished second in his trial and stopped the clock in :17.059 with an 86 speed index while just missing by a head.

The gelding is bred and owned by Arnold Trahan, trained by Larry Keith, and ridden by Leonardo Rodriguez.

A $23,000 LQHBA Yearling Sale graduate, he is sired by AJs Fast Dash and out of the Mr Jess Perry mare Ms Wandas Prize. He is a full brother to stakes-placed Brileys Prize ($171,288), while his second dam is a stakes-placed full sister to stakes winner Rockets Fortune ($61,132).

The $297,965 Laddie Futurity (RG2) and the $50,000-guaranteed Juvenile will both be contested May 23, featuring a competitive group of Louisiana-bred juveniles led by a tightly matched top pair emerging from a demanding night of trials over a sloppy racing surface.
