FARMINGTON, NM–MAY 16, 2026– Fastest qualifier GBH Cowboy lived up to his billing Saturday afternoon at SunRay Park, surging late from the far outside post to capture the $203,163 Grade 3 Four Corners Futurity under jockey Jose Enriquez.
Conditioned by Eric Valenzuela for Tungsten Racing Partnership, the sorrel gelding covered the 350 yards in :17.327 while earning a 95 speed index over a fast racing surface. The victory was worth $95,487 and boosted his earnings to $111,506 from four starts.
Breaking alertly from post ten, GBH Cowboy quickly established position before exploding late to gain the advantage in the final strides and score by a neck.
Sent off as the prohibitive 2-5 favorite, the son of champion Flying Cowboy 123 was coming off a finalist effort in the Grade 2 West Texas Futurity and now owns a 4-1-0-0 record.
The gelding was bred in Texas by Gary W. Hartstack from the FDD Dynasty mare GBH Lightning and was purchased for $41,000 at the TQHA Yearling Sale.
Flying Cowboys Candy and jockey Luis Martinez finished second after dueling throughout before settling for runner-up honors in :17.375 with a 93 speed index.
Owned by CHR Racing and trained by Tony Sedillo, the colt was bred by PV Quarter Horse Farms LLC. The son of Flying Cowboy 123 is out of the Cartels Candy Man mare Candy Cartels Candy, a half sister to champion Jess Good Candy, winner of more than $2 million.
Flying Cowboys Candy now has a 4-0-3-1 record with earnings of $56,659 and was previously second in the West Texas Juvenile Stakes earlier this year.
D Memphis Cowgirl completed the trifecta under jockey Noe Garcia Jr. for owner Tungsten Racing Partnership and trainer Wesley Giles.
The filly raced gamely throughout and finished another head behind the runner-up while posting a :17.392 clocking and 93 speed index.
Bred in Texas by Jorge Haddad, the daughter of Flying Cowboy 123 out of the FDD Dynasty mare Memphis D Nasty has now earned $25,948 from only two career starts.
Sephora 157 finished fourth, followed by Fabulous Piloto, La Golden Eagle, Cold Cash Amanda, Ghirardelli Dark, Apollitical Slates, and Perjjury to complete the order of finish.
