POCATELLO DOWNS, ID–MAY 17, 2026– Pevs Ima Lazajane APHA delivered a sharp first-out performance on Sunday afternoon, breaking alertly under jockey Tyson Lusk to win the $5,000 Pocatello Downs Paint & Appaloosa Futurity Division 2 at Pocatello Downs.
The black filly flew from the gates and held firm late to defeat GW Lighning Strike APHA by a neck in the 300-yard futurity. Pevs Ima Lazajane stopped the clock in :16.255 over a fast track.
Bred by Gordon and Jackie Pevehouse, Pevs Ima Lazajane races for owner Eddie Jensen and trainer Tony Hyde. The filly was a $10,000 graduate of the Heritage Place Winter Mixed Sale and was making the first start of her career.
She is sired by dual-registered champion PHQ Apollitical Jess and out of the PYC Paint Your Wagon mare Ima PYC China Doll. She is also a half-sister to stakes winner Ima China Rush, earner of $252,767.
GW Lighning Strike APHA finished second under jockey Luis Cruz Ruiz for owner, breeder, and trainer Gil Wright. The gelding was also making his career debut. He is by Ruthies Hotrod and out of the GW Running Faucet mare GW Running Diamond.
Mr Kelly Deluxe APHA completed the trifecta under jockey Nakia Teeter for owner and breeder C and T Horses and trainer Kyle Dahlke. The colt, making his first lifetime start, is sired by Eagle Deluxe and out of the Darkelly mare Moonlight Kelly.
RS Apollitical Doll and BG This Is My Broom completed the order of finish.
