OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MAY 30, 2026—Cuz Eyema Cowboy Baby emerged victorious in a thrilling blanket finish Saturday night, capturing the Grade 1 $20,000 Speedhorse Graham Paint and Appaloosa Stakes at Remington Park.

The Oklahoma-bred son of Flying Cowboy 123 out of Cuz Eyema Livewire by CRM Livewire covered 350 yards in 17.659 seconds while earning a speed index of 88. Ridden by Roman Cruz, the sorrel gelding overcame a troubled trip and held off a late charge from Set On Cruise to secure the victory by a neck.

Owned and bred by Gary and Charity Hensley and trained by Jesus Ruiz, Cuz Eyema Cowboy Baby earned the winner's share of the $20,000 guaranteed purse in the season's premier early stakes event for 3-year-old Paints and Appaloosas.

Set On Cruise, a CRM Livewire filly under Cody Smith, finished second after making a determined bid through the stretch. The runner-up, trained by Matt Whitekiller, is owned by Kaye Jones.

Just another neck behind in third was Inner G, ridden by Cristian Esqueda for owner-trainer Ray Enlow. The Hes Relentless gelding battled gamely throughout before settling for third in the tightly contested finish.

Upshot finished fourth, followed closely by Pretty Lil Poison in fifth. Livewires Apollo crossed the wire sixth, with Turbulent seventh and Cancel Culture completing the order of finish in eighth.

The race featured a highly competitive field of Paint and Appaloosa sophomores, with less than a half-second separating the winner from the last-place finisher.

According to the Equibase chart, Cuz Eyema Cowboy Baby was bumped shortly after the start but quickly recovered and proved strongest when it mattered most, edging Set On Cruise and Inner G in one of the closest finishes of the Remington Park meet.
