VINTON, LA–JUNE 6, 2026–Distance specialists took center stage Saturday night at Delta Downs as a field of six older runners lined up for the $33,000 Virgil Bond Stakes at 870 yards over a sloppy, sealed racing surface. When the dust settled, it was the familiar face of One Fast Cajun who once again proved best, capturing his second career victory in the stakes.
Ridden by Ubaldo Luna, One Fast Cajun rallied from just off the pace before unleashing a strong stretch run to draw clear and stop the clock in :46.439, earning a 90 speed index. The bay gelding returned $5.00 as the post-time favorite.

The $21,000 winner's share of the purse increased his bankroll to $347,850 while improving his career record to 34 starts with 17 wins, three seconds, and four thirds. An accomplished stakes competitor, One Fast Cajun has now won or placed in 12 stakes races. Saturday's score marked his second victory in the Virgil Bond Stakes, having previously captured the race in 2024.
Snow Bound and jockey Bobby Ransom finished second for owner Zach Stevenson and trainer Dustin Rhodes. Bred by Bill Hoburg, the colt was sold for $245,000 at the Los Alamitos Equine Sale before later bringing $43,000 at the Heritage Place Fall Mixed Sale.
