Apollitikal Dreamer Tops Prairie Meadows Gold Futurity Qualifiers

ALTOONA, IA–JUNE 15, 2026–Eight trials were contested at Prairie Meadows on June 15 for the estimated $225,000 Prairie Meadows Gold Futurity. The ten fastest qualifiers from the 350-yard trials will return for the July 4 final.

Apollitikal Dreamer and jockey Ramiro Garcia recorded the fastest qualifying time after a dominant 1½-length victory in the third trial.

The Brenda Reiswig homebred gelding is trained by Jason Olmstead and stopped the clock in :17.762 seconds while leading throughout.

Sired by all-time leading sire Apollitical Jess and out of the stakes-winning Hes Relentless mare One Kool Dreamer, Apollitikal Dreamer is from the family of two-time champion Kool Kue Baby.

He now owns a record of 4-2-1-1 with earnings of $56,584. Prior to the trials, he finished third in the Easy Jet Stakes (G2) after winning the Remington Park Juvenile.

Jess Danica posted the second-fastest qualifying time after edging away late to win the fifth trial by three-quarters of a length under Cristian Esqueda.

The Thomas Lepic homebred filly is trained by Stacy Charette-Hill and covered the distance in :17.830 seconds. She dueled throughout with Wisp before gaining the advantage in the closing strides.

Also by Apollitical Jess, Jess Danica is out of the Tres Seis mare Signs Of A Blue Moon. She improved her record to 3-1-2-0 with earnings of $16,845.

Be Iconic secured the third-fastest qualifying mark after rallying from just off the pace to win the second trial by three-quarters of a length under Alfredo Triana Jr. for owner Horton Racing LLC and trainer John Stinebaugh. The gelding stopped the timer in :17.843 seconds.

Bred by Tom Maher and Dick Tobin, Be Iconic is a $200,000 Heritage Place Winter Mixed Sale graduate. The gelding is sired by champion Hes Relentless and out of the stakes-winning Apollitical Jess mare Lynnder 16, winner of $920,486. His female family includes champion Tiny First Effort, winner of $445,393.

The final will be contested July 4 at Prairie Meadows.
