SHELBYVILLE, IN–JUNE 27, 2026–A field of 70 two-year-olds competed in eight trials Saturday at Horseshoe Indianapolis, with the 10 fastest advancing to the $194,520 Heartland Futurity final on July 18. Favorite Kiss 43 emerged with the fastest qualifying time after stopping the clock in :17.926 over 350 yards.
Breaking in the fifth trial heat (race 10), Favorite Kiss 43 earned an 89 speed index while racing over a sloppy track under jockey Luis Luna Diaz. The son of Kiss My Hocks went straight to the front and never looked back, defeating Temptstepper Z by a half length while breaking his maiden in his second career start. The 6-1 upset returned $13.80 to win.
Owned by Keith Bode, Favorite Kiss 43 is trained by Tim Eggleston. Bred in Oklahoma by Kelly Yother Equine LLC, he is out of Dreams Recalled by Favorite Cartel.
Tw A Political Beach won his trial heat with the second fastest time. © Coady Media Just one-thousandth of a second behind the fastest qualifier was Tw A Political Beach, who earned the second-fastest time of :17.927. The daughter of Apollitical Jess continued an impressive family tradition for owner and breeder Thomas Wylie of Indiana.
Fresh off the success of TW Streakin Cowboy, a multiple stakes winner in Indiana, Wylie appears to have another standout in the making. Tw A Political Beach broke from post seven and remained in control throughout, drawing away to win by 1 3/4 lengths. The freshman filly was making her third career start and picked up her second victory, increasing her earnings to $17,560.
Trained by former jockey Natasha Perez and ridden by Diego Villamil Bocanegra, Tw A Political Beach is out of six-time winner and stakes finalist Wh Imastreakinbeach by Escondido Beach. The sorrel filly is a half-sister to Wylie's TW Streakin Cowboy, who captured the $75,000 Horseshoe Indianapolis QHRAI Derby last week for his third stakes victory over the past year. Perez conditions both stable stars.
Red Sleeve secured the third-fastest qualifying time after remaining unbeaten in two starts with a :17.967 clocking. The colt by One Sweet Jess defeated Kool Kisses by 1¼ lengths after breaking his maiden earlier this month and now boasts earnings of $17,050.
Owned by Campos Family Ventures, LLC, Red Sleeve was bred in Indiana by Tony Brackens out of Kgb Agent Anna by Eyesa Special. Claudio Barraza trains the promising colt, who was ridden by Edgar Diaz.
