Five Bar Dlt Tops Qualifiers To Bitterroot Futurity (RG3)

POCATELLO, ID–JUNE 28, 2026–Thirty-five juveniles competed in six trials Sunday at Pocatello Downs, with the 10 fastest qualifiers advancing to the $70,000-added Bitterroot Futurity (RG3) on July 19. Five Bar Dlt posted the fastest qualifying time of :18.213 seconds over 350 yards to lead the field into the finals.

Five Bar Dlt defeated Ojd Quantum Trot by one-half length in the sixth of six trials, earning an 82 speed index while stopping the clock in :18.213 seconds into a 13 mph crosswind. Under jockey Elmer Castillo, the gelding took command in the final strides to score the 6-1 upset, returning $14.60 to win.

The gelded son of Five Bar Cartel broke his maiden June 7 at Jerome County Fair after finishing fifth in the Pocatello Downs Spring Classic Futurity Consolation. He has now won his last two starts from four career outings.

Five Bar Dlt races for owners Edilberto Gomez, Luis Gomez and Salvador Gomez and is trained by Luis Gomez. Bred in Louisiana by Jorge Carmona, he is out of Shes All Mighty by Mr Jess Perry. He was a $13,000 purchase at the 2025 Heritage Place Yearling Sale.

Ojd Quantum Trot recorded the second-fastest qualifying time of :18.274 seconds after finishing one-half length behind the fastest qualifier. The Cyber Monday gelding, out of Ojd Miss Lola by One Sweet Jess, was bred in Idaho by Karla Diaz Gomez.

Trainer Javier Fuentes conditions Ojd Quantum Trot for Karla and Oscar Diaz. He entered the trials off a third-place finish in the Beehive Futurity and has one win, one second and one third with $11,826 in earnings.

Pretty Boyy Swag secured the third-fastest qualifying time after scoring his first career victory in :18.304 seconds from his first start. The One Valiant Hero gelding tracked post-time favorite Mysterious Hero throughout before flying late to win.

Owned and bred by Dunn Ranch in Oklahoma, Pretty Boyy Swag is out of Pretty Little Liar by Mr Jess Perry. Jed H. Vane trains the gelding and Oscar Villa had the riding assignment.

The next 10 fastest horses from the Bitterroot Futurity trials received preferred invitations to the Bitterroot Juvenile, which will also be contested on July 19.

D Batgirl Has Risen posted the fastest qualifying time to the Juvenile with a :18.509 clocking. The filly by Uncle D out of The Eagle Has Risen by One Famous Eagle races for owner Dallin Nelson. Bred in Texas by Jose Mendoza, she is trained by Kyle Dahlke and was ridden by Nakia Teeter.

Streaks Of Success qualified with the second-fastest Juvenile time of :18.539 seconds. The gelding by Power Jam out of Streaks of Ivory by Ivory James races for Dunn Ranch. Bred in Oklahoma by Ken O'Brien, he is trained by Jed Vane and was ridden by Oscar Villa.
