One Sweet Duck and jockey Juan Rivas rally late to win the $24,750 Evanston Stakes on July 5 at Wyoming Downs.

EVANSTON, WY–JULY 5, 2026–One Sweet Duck closed strongly in the final strides to capture the $24,750 Evanston Stakes for 3-year-olds and older at Wyoming Downs on Sunday.

Ridden by Juan Rivas, the 6-year-old mare rallied late to win by a neck while covering 300 yards in :15.272 and earning a 108 speed index. The victory was worth $13,613 and pushed her career earnings to $156,208.

A homebred for Lex Fabrizio, One Sweet Duck is trained by Robert Young. The Utah-bred mare is sired by One Sweet Jess and out of the Coronas Fast Dash mare Duck Dash N Go.

The win improved her record to 31-11-4-2. She entered the Evanston Stakes off a finalist effort in the Grade 2 Abigail Kawananakoa Stakes and earlier this season captured the Virginia Hyland Stakes. Her previous stakes victories also include the La Pacifica Handicap.

Dads Racy Te finished second under Cordarelton Benn after making a strong outside run, stopping the timer in :15.321 with a 106 speed index.

Owned by Kimberly Skaggs and trained by Robby Overturf, the 5-year-old gelding was bred by Mark and Peggy Brown and sold for $30,000 at the Ruidoso New Mexico Bred Sale. He is by Big Daddy Cartel and out of the winning Mr Jess Perry mare Jessa Techick, a half-sister to stakes winners Mr Pie Chick ($149,589), Scream N Eagle ($71,341), and Blueeyedeagle ($42,802).

Dads Racy Te now owns a record of 21-5-4-4 with earnings of $142,241. He entered the race off a victory in the Energy Downs Stakes.

UD Goldenboy finished third under David Alvarez Jr. for breeder-owner-trainer Lucero Uriel Dominguez. The 11-year-old gelding is by Jr Dynasty Mountain and out of the Tac It Like A Man mare Bvlgari B.

One of the most accomplished runners in the region, UD Goldenboy now sports a record of 51-20-12-5 with earnings of $140,286. His stakes victories include two editions of the Bulldogger Stakes as well as the Laurel Brown Derby and Horse Palace Futurity.

Cowboyhatbygucci finished fourth and was followed by Shiza A Turbo, Jolie Laide, and Shiny Nova. Jessa Royal Tee and Rrelentless Doll were scratched.
