Jess A Cold Corona and jockey Eric Ayala break through for their first career victory in the $5,600 89 & Under Stakes on July 19 at Pocatello Downs.

POCATELLO, ID–JULY 19, 2026– Jess A Cold Corona broke through for her first career victory in the $5,600 89 & Under Stakes on July 19 at Pocatello Downs.

Ridden by Eric Ayala, the four-year-old homebred filly races for owner Scott Weeks and is trained by Boyd Weeks. She is by This Cartel Is Cold and out of the Jess Got Easier mare Gorjess Tinky Annie.

Jess A Cold Corona covered 350 yards in :18.167, earning an 83 speed index. The victory improved her record to one win from two starts.

Em Nighthawk finished second under Jesus Flores for owners Jill and Glen Jamison, with Glen Jamison also serving as trainer.

Bred by Efrain Mendez, the three-year-old gelding is an $8,000 Heritage Place Fall Mixed Sale graduate. He is by Ivory James and out of the stakes-winning High Rate Of Return mare Saratoga Return ($123,620). His female family is stacked with black-type performers, including second dam Johns Party Girl ($70,169).

Em Nighthawk completed the distance in :18.233, earning an 81 speed index. He now owns a record of four seconds and two thirds from nine starts with earnings of $6,604. Last season he finished third in the Roche Equine Veterinary Services Futurity.

Bw Jess De Stuff finished third under Nakia Teeter for owners Betty and Boyd Weeks. Trained by Guy Weeks, the three-year-old gelding is by Jess Got Easier and out of the The Flight Stuff mare Bw De Stuff.

He stopped the clock in :18.346. Bw Jess De Stuff now has a record of one win, two seconds, and one third from six starts with earnings of $5,435.

Jp Superstar finished fourth and was followed by Jettastics Diamond and Streakarun.
