MALAD CITY, ID—JULY 26, 2026—Jr Dynasty Chick posted the fastest qualifying time from four trials Sunday at the Oneida County Fairgrounds, leading the field into the $10,000-added Oneida County Fair All Breed Derby final scheduled for August 9.
Ridden by Luis A. Collazo for owner, trainer, and breeder Cesar Luna, Jr., Dynasty Chick stopped the timer in 15.253 for 300 yards while winning the opening trial by 1¼ lengths over El Flying Prieto.
The bay filly by multiple stakes sire Jr Dynasty Mountain out of Desired Chick, by Agouti, earned a 104 speed index while appearing well within herself throughout the race. The filly who had lit the board in eight of nine starts going into the trials broke her maiden.
The second-fastest qualifier was APHA Bg Follow My Lead, who captured the fourth and final trial in 15.274 while drawing away to win by one length. The bay gelding is owned by Scott and Sherry Erickson, was bred in Oklahoma by Mike or Jay Lynn Hester, and is trained by Wasey Erickson. Brayan Juarez had the riding assignment aboard the son of Capo de Capi out of Skip Away Shadow, by Judys Lineage.
Qualifying third overall was Cd Driftin Da Wagon, who finished second to Bg Follow My Lead in the fourth trial but secured a berth in the final with a 15.427 clocking. The bay filly by Cd Rockin Da Wagon out of Jezabella, by Carters Cartel, races for Cristobal Ramirez, was bred in Wyoming by Daniel J. and Carol L. Lee, is conditioned by Ramiro Fregoso, and was ridden by Oscar Villa. She closed willingly to finish one length behind the trial winner.
