AJAX, CAN–JULY 29, 2026–Carol and Jaime Robertson's homebred Had To Be Valiant remained undefeated with an authoritative victory in Wednesday's $42,519 Ontario Bred Futurity at Ajax Downs.

Ridden by Ismael Mosqueira, the sorrel filly broke sharply, quickly took command, and was never threatened en route to a 1-length victory in :16.249 for the 300 yards.

The daughter of One Valiant Hero out of the Five Bar Cartel mare Five Bar Fandango recorded an impressive front-running performance while improving to 2-for-2.

Trained by Bryn Robertson, Had To Be Valiant is out of a female family that includes champions Had To Be Ivory ($415,771) and Had To Be Fabulous ($138,745), while her second dam, Had To Be Fandango, is a Dam of Distinction.

The winner's $18,093 share of the purse increased her bankroll to $23,727.

Baref Hurricane Rush rallied after breaking inward at the start to finish a determined second under Corry Beland, stopping the clock in :16.385.

Owned and bred by Earl Foster and trained by Corey Illman, the daughter of Rushago out of Sugarnspicenotsonice has now finished third and second in her first two career starts while boosting her earnings to $10,399.

Stolen Ivory S Dash overcame a wide trip to finish another nose behind in third under Jose Cruz, completing the 300 yards in :16.387.

Owned by Carol and Jaime Robertson, trained by Bob Broadstock, and bred by Guylaine Paquin, the gelding by Cold Hard Dash out of Stolin Ivory has now hit the board in both career starts after following up a runner-up effort with Wednesday's third-place finish.

Stellaaaa finished fourth after a game effort, followed by Imablazinrush, Oscar The Grouch, and Snowy Goose to complete the order of finish.
