Bg Hawks An Eagles, ridden by Luis Collazo, won the $13,500 Rocky Mountain Paint & Appaloosa Classic at Oneida County Fair on Saturday.

MALAD, ID–AUGUST 8, 2026–Post-time favorite Bg Hawks An Eagles scored her third consecutive victory on Saturday in the $13,500 Rocky Mountain Paint & Appaloosa Classic at Oneida County Fair.

Piloted by jockey Luis Collazo, Bg Hawks An Eagles took charge early, right out of the gates, and kept the lead to the wire, defeating fastest qualifier Gw Lightning Strike by a neck. She clocked a 95 speed index against a 15 mph crosswind in 15.489 seconds.

She now has three wins from five starts with $10,684. The multiple stakes winner scored her first stakes victory in the Harvest Cup Paint & Appy Futurity earlier this season and also placed fourth in the Pocatello Downs Paint & Appaloosa Futurity Div 1.

Bg Hawks An Eagles was bred by Becky Grant in Indiana out of the Hawkinson mare Gone By. Cesar Luna owns and trains the daughter of Eagle Deluxe.

Gw Lighning Strike, who qualified with the fastest time, gave a late effort at the wire under Bryan Juarez, but it just wasn’t enough, and she had to settle for second. The daughter of Ruthies Hotrod has two wins and two seconds from five starts with $8,327 in the bank.

Bred owned and trained by Gil Wright,Gw Lighning Strike is out of Gw Running Diamond by Gw Running Faucet. She placed second in the Pocatello Downs Paint & Appaloosa Futurity Div 2 and was a finalist in the Harvest Cup Paint & Appy Futurity.

Ridden by Raphael Romero, Bg Dream Crusher placed third. The daughter of Uncle D has lit the board in every out with a record of 1-1-2 and $6,245 in the bank. Trained by Wasey Erickson, Bg Dream Cursher won the Pocatello Downs Paint & Appaloosa Futurity Div 2 and placed second in the Harvest Cup Paint & Appy Futurity. Becky Grant also bred and owns the Appaloosa filly out of Br Pleasure by Lotta Loot.

Bg This Is My Broom, Pevs Ima Lazajane, Mr Kelly Deluxe, Rs Apollitical Doll, and Gw Stylish Concern complete the order of finish.
