Hunny Moon and jockey Jose Guerrero hold off a late surge from Bee A Tempting Queen to win the $11,100 Sand And Sea Stakes at the Tillamook County Fair on August 8.

TILLAMOOK, OR–AUGUST 8, 2026–Hunny Moon used her early speed to score a neck victory in the $11,100 Sand And Sea Stakes for 3-year-olds and older Saturday at the Tillamook County Fair.

Ridden by Jose Guerrero, Hunny Moon broke sharply from post two and immediately took command in the 220-yard sprint. The 4-year-old filly held off a late surge from Bee A Tempting Queen to win by a neck in :11.279, earning a 106 speed index. Ts Jess Attack finished another three-quarters of a length back in third.

Hunny Moon races for Rancho Las Guasimas LLC and trainer Juan Hernandez. Bred in Oklahoma by Bobby D. Cox, the gray filly is by Moonin The Eagle and out of the Corona Cartel mare All Biznez.

A $12,000 Heritage Place Yearling Sale graduate, Hunny Moon has compiled a 21-4-7-1 record with earnings of $49,510. She was previously runner-up in the Far West Futurity.

Bee A Tempting Queen crossed the wire second under jockey Erick De Luna after overcoming a bumped start and producing a late surge. Owned by Alberto Avila and trained by Mario Portillo, the 4-year-old filly was bred by Thomas Lepic. She is a $28,000 Heritage Place Yearling Sale graduate by Tempting Dash and out of the Tres Seis mare Signs Of A Blue Moon.

Bee A Tempting Queen has compiled a 17-2-5-5 record with earnings of $33,608. She placed third in the Firecracker Futurity at Grants Pass.

Ridden by Salvador Ibarra, Ts Jess Attack finished third for owner Tranquilino Flores and trainer Bryan Flores. The 4-year-old filly chased the pace before finishing evenly. Bred by Thomas Scheckel, she is an $8,500 Heritage Place Yearling Sale graduate by Jess Zoomin and out of the First Down Dash mare First Attack. She has compiled a 19-2-5-4 record with earnings of $19,330.

Fooses Flyer, Fast Movin Freight, Nowhere Too Run and Cpr Myfavoritewagon completed the order of finish.
