VINTON, LA–AUGUST 8, 2026–Delta Downs hosted nine qualifying trials for this year’s $561,054 LQHBA Sale Futurity (RG1) on Saturday night. The fastest qualifying came out of the eighth race as Ruse Ranch LLC’s Man for Cos won his 350-yard trial in a time of 17.460 under jockey Jorge Javier Garcia. The time equaled a speed index of 101 while running over a fast racetrack.

The win by Man for Cos, who is trained by Jose A. Garcia, was the fourth of his six-race career. He earned $7,200 for the effort, which raised his bankroll to $91,230. He now has the chance to earn a paycheck of $252,474 if he can win the Sale Futurity final on Saturday, August 29.

Bred in Louisiana by his owner, Man for Cos is a 2-year-old sorrel gelding by Kj Mucho Macho Man, out of the Tee Cos mare Just for Cos.

Krs Dream won the fourth race under jockey Federico Vargas for owners Joseph Raffeo and Sara Louise Fox and trainer Rene Vldana. Bred by Kenneth Fletcher, the filly was an $11,000 LQHBA Yearling Sale purchase. She is sired by world champion Freighttrain B and out of the Dominyun mare Histori, from the female family of dam of distinction Zipp Zoro ($102,240). Coming off a runner-up finish in the Louisiana Bred Lassie Juvenile Stakes, Krs Dream improved her record to 4-2-1-0 with earnings of $23,200.

Apollitical Latino, ridden by J.R. Ramirez, finished second behind Man For Cos and jockey J. Ramirez. Trained by Josue Ponce for owner Jaime Cardenas, the gelding was bred by Legacy Ranch Inc. and sold for $77,000 at the LQHBA Yearling Sale. He is sired by champion and champion sire Apollitical Blood and out of the winning Corona Cartel mare Lr Miss Atina, making him a half-brother to graded stakes winner Mister Appolitical ($317,368). Coming off a second-place finish in the Louisiana Bred Laddie Futurity (G2), Apollitical Latino now has a record of 5-0-3-1 with earnings of $55,824.
