Second-fastest qualifier BG Follow My Lead APHA extended his winning streak to four consecutive races Sunday with a victory in the $16,500 Oneida County Mixed Breed Derby at the Oneida County Fair.

MALAD CITY, ID–AUGUST 9, 2026–Second-fastest qualifier BG Follow My Lead APHA extended his winning streak to four consecutive races Sunday with a victory in the $16,500 Oneida County Mixed Breed Derby at the Oneida County Fair.

The 300-yard event was for 3-year-old Paints, Appaloosas and Quarter Horses. Ridden by Brayan Juarez, BG Follow My Lead broke on top and refused to give way, holding off his rivals by a half-length. The gelding stopped the clock in :15.225 for a 105 speed index over a fast track.

BG Follow My Lead is owned by Scott and Sherry Erickson and trained by Wasey Erickson. Bred in Oklahoma by Mike and Jay Lynn Hester, he is sired by Capo De Capi QH and out of the Judys Lineage mare Skip Away Shadow.

With wins in each of his last four starts, BG Follow My Lead improved his record to 10-5-2-1 and boosted his earnings to $40,512. Earlier this season, he won the Five Livestock Company/Rod Mills Memorial Derby and finished second in the Gary & Sherilyn Blattner Memorial Derby.

Thought It Deluxe and fastest qualifier Jr Dynasty Chick could not be separated at the wire, dead-heating for second in :15.287. Both earned a 103 speed index, finishing a half-length behind the winner. Thought It Deluxe brushed at the start, while Jr Dynasty Chick produced a late surge.

Thought It Deluxe was ridden by Raphael Romero for owner and breeder Jorge Murillo and trainer Jose Pulido. The gelding is sired by Eagle Deluxe and out of the Foose mare Thought It Through. Still in search of his first stakes victory, he previously finished second in the Five Livestock Company/Rod Mills Memorial Derby and the Roche Equine Veterinary Services Futurity.

Jr Dynasty Chick was ridden by Luis Collazo for owner and trainer Cesar Luna. Bred by Feliberto Luna, the filly is sired by Jr Dynasty Mountain and out of the Agouti mare Desired Chick. She now owns a record of 11-1-7-2 with $13,741 in earnings. The fastest qualifier entered the July 26 trials following a fourth-place finish in the Five Livestock Company/Rod Mills Memorial Derby.

Rr Coronassecretgold finished fourth, followed by Awesome Cowboy, Cd Driftin Da Wagon and Chicks Favorite Five. El Flying Prieto was scratched.
