Rebas First Kiss and jockey Armando Alvidrez surge to victory in the $57,575 Iowa Stallion Derby at Prairie Meadows on August 15.

ALTOONA, IA–AUGUST 15, 2026–Rebas First Kiss surged late to capture the $57,575 Iowa Stallion Derby at Prairie Meadows on Saturday, defeating familiar rival Kwik Fast Prize in the 400-yard stakes.

Ridden by Armando Alvidrez, Rebas First Kiss broke outward before rallying gamely to get up for the victory in :20.025, earning an 88 speed index. Kwik Fast Prize took the lead late but was overtaken, finishing a half-length back in :20.180.

Jason Olmstead trains Rebas First Kiss for owner-breeders Robert and Sandra Brown. The Iowa-bred filly is by Kiss Me Anywhere and out of the Teller Cartel mare Tellher To Fly.

Coming off a runner-up finish in the Cyclone Derby, Rebas First Kiss improved her record to 12-3-3-1 with earnings of $98,437. She also won last year's Iowa Stallion Futurity in a dead heat with Kwik Fast Prize.

Cristian Esqueda rode Kwik Fast Prize to second for owner Paul Tonderum and trainer Alex Wessels. Bred by Craig Kirby, the filly is also by Kiss Me Anywhere and is out of the Tac It Like A Man mare Fast Prize Tacita. The Iowa Stallion Futurity co-winner now has a record of 5-2-1-1 with earnings of $47,356.

Kiss Me To The Moon crossed the wire third under Miguel Ramirez for owner Stephen Moyle and trainer Alex Wessels. The gelding was bumped at the start before recovering to secure third in :20.237.

Bred by Kay Sage, Kiss Me To The Moon is by Kiss Me Anywhere and out of the First Moonflash mare Flash First Moon. He now owns a record of 7-1-2-3 with earnings of $33,319.

Miss Kissem finished fourth, followed by Trs Just Like Dutton, Cartel Special Storm and Breakaway Bandit. Anchor Down For Cash was scratched.
