VINTON, LA–JUNE 19, 2025–Trials for the $597,622 Lee Berwick Futurity (RG1) will be contested Friday at Delta Downs, where a field of Louisiana-bred two-year-olds will sprint 350 yards across 12 trial races.
First post is scheduled for 5:15 p.m. Central. The 10 fastest qualifiers will return to Delta Downs for the final on Friday, July 12.
In Race 2, Marcy Train B (9-5) will look to maintain her momentum after a victory in the $244,000 Lassie Futurity(RG2) on May 23. The Freighttrain B filly, out of Jessbye Marcy by Mr Jess Perry, is trained by Miguel Castillo for owner Jaime Cardenas. Grant Frams, LLC is the breeder.
With Victor Urieta Jr. aboard, she brings in strong back-to-back winning efforts at Delta Downs and holds a lifetime high speed figure of 90. She has two wins in four starts and has banked $129,072.

Race 3 features the likely overall fastest trial winner, RF Fast Dash N Blood (1-1), also owned by Jaime Cardenas and trained by Miguel Castillo. The Apollitical Blood gelding, out of Fast Dash N Deb by Heza Fast Dash, has earnings of over $165,000 and is unbeaten in two local starts.
His dramatic rally to win the $269,000 Laddie Futurity (G2) last out stamped him as one of the leading juveniles in the region. He posted a career high 99 speed index in that effort.
One of the top contenders early in the card is Luziana Man (8-5), entered in Race 1 for owners Rosalio Espinosa and Jerry Deville Jr. Trained by Jose R. Espinosa and ridden by Noe Castaneda, Luziana Man is a gelded son of Dominyun out of Jewels Fortune by First Down Jewel, bred by Jerry West.
He has already earned over $55,000 in three starts and most recently finished second in the Grade 2 Laddie Futurity after a sharp win in his trial, registering a 91 speed index.
In Race 7, LM Ms Apollitical (5-2) steps back into the spotlight. A daughter of Apollitical Blood out of Ur Louisiana Blue by Jess Louisiana Blue, she’s trained by Francisco Bernal for owner Luis Rosales Martinez, Jr.
The bay filly was a sharp third in the Lassie Futurity(RG2) last time out and has one win and one second in two starts. Jockey Ubaldo Luna will ride.
Race 10 will showcase Shes Jess Sixy (7-5), another filly with top credentials. Trained by Jose R. Espinosa and ridden by Leonardo Rodriguez, she’s owned by Jerry Deville, Jr. and is by Mr Piloto out of Sixy Sihouette by Corona Cartel. She enters off a close second in the $40,000 Lassie Juvenile Stakes in. her last start.
Race 11, includes a stacked field headlined by Inseperabug (9-5), trained by Mardonio Flores Jr. for owner Juan Manuel Flores. He’s by Inseperable out of Tiny First Bug by Tiny First Corona and has flashed ability with a strong maiden win at Louisiana Downs earlier this spring and qualifying for the $244,000 Lassie Futurity(RG2) in her second start. Leonardo Rodriguez will ride.
Also in Race 11 is Jessapilottrain (7-2), a gelded son of Freighttrain B out of Miss Jess Lady Pilot by Mr Jess Perry. Trained by Jose R. Espinosa and ridden by David Alvarez, he was a game winner of the $40,000 Laddie Juvenile Stakes in his last out for owners Jerry Deville and Jose Espinosa.
Completing the talented trio in this heat is Ivory Heart Z (5-1), bred by Slash Z Quarter Horses and trained by Patrick Clemons. The Ivory James filly is out of Cr Tamarisk by Valiant Hero and is coming off an encouraging third-place effort n the Lassie Juvenile Stakes. She will be ridden by Victor Urieta Jr. for owner Dania Castellanos.
With a deep and competitive slate of trials, the path to the Lee Berwick Futurity final promises to be an exciting showcase of Louisiana's emerging Quarter Horse stars.
