SHELBYVILLE, IN–OCTOBER 2, 2022–Bp First Money, a colt by all-time leading sire First Down, was the sale-topper at the recently concluded QHRAI Speed Sale held at Horseshoe Indianapolis on September 17.

The sale company reported 22 head sold for gross receipts of $242,800, an $11,036 average and $5,100 median.

Gordon Timm and Debbie Smith paid $60,000 for Hip 71 Bp First Money.  Randy Haffner consigned the gray colt out of Jess A Lil Bit by Feature Mr Jess. BP First Money is a half0borther to 5 black type including G2 winner Ronnie James and Grade 3 winner The Lizzard King. This is the family of Ruidoso QH Futurity(G1) winner Fernweh.

The second high seller, Hip 30 The Good Candy, brought a final bid of $35,500 from buyer Debbie Smith.  Brian Gunder consigned the daughter of leading third-crop sire Jess Good Candy from the stakes winning and stakes producing A Regal Choice mare The Regal Streak. The Good Candy is a half-sister to stakes-placed Aregal Rainbow.

Roberto Chavez paid $33,000 for the sale's third highest seller, Hip 42 Crusindownthebeah. Ed Pennington consigned the Habits Streaker colt out of stakes winner Beach Runner by Escondido Beach. This is the family of stakes winners Beach Cartel and Beach Runner.

Debbie Smith was he sale's leading byer with four yearlings for $71,200. Smith and Gordon Timm paid $60,000 for one purchase and Roberto Chavez had two head for $41,000.

Randy Haffer was the leading consignor or agent with the one yearling for $60,000. Brian Gunder had two head sale for $42,500 and Ed Pennington sold two head for $38,000.

Habbits Secret was the sale's leading sire (by average, two or more sold) with two head for a $19,000 average. Send A Candy Guy had two head for $3,350 and Cartels Feature had two for $3,240 average.
