AJAX, ONT—SEPTEMBER 14, 2020—Stakes-placed Five Bar Fandango got his second consecutive won today when he posted the fastest qualifying time for the Ontario Bred Maturity at Ajax Downs.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will return to Ajax Downs on Monday, October 12th to vie for the winner's share of $40,000-added purse going 400 yards.

Ridden by jockey Ismael Mosqueira, Five Bar Fandango went wire-to-wire to defeat Shes Sizzling by half-a-length while getting the top time of :20.261 seconds, into a 15 mph headwind.

Trainer Bryn Robertson saddled the daughter of multiple stakes sire Five Bar Cartel to her sixth career win for owner-breeders Carol and Jamie Robertson.

Third in the Ontario-bred Derby at 3, Five Bar Fandango has earned $52,955. The 4-year-old is out of Had To Be Fandango by Hadtobenuts.

Also ridden by Mosqueira, Tres On Fire got her second consecutive win in the opening trial to get the third fastest time of :20.392 seconds. Carol McIntyre saddled the son of Fire Finder for owner Big Dog Racing Stables. Gary McNichol bred the five-time winner from the Tres Seis mare Quick Six Lady. The 4-year-old has earned $30,597.
